doesn't look like i'm getting much wear out of this... went through the wash in appropriate conditions and came out looking like this... the colour bleeding doesn't look attractive at all

market finds 27.03.11

Zara Jeans - $5 from $10 (wax finish)
Martin Margiela t-shirt!!!!! - $5 (couldn't believe it, noticed the design and looked at the tag... thought to myself , doesn't look like a diesel garment... i noticed it was the style of material content tag used by the label and i guess it's no surprise as they both come out of the same factory these days. Took another glance at the t-shirt and back at the tag i was certain it was a Margiela and then i rolled down the tip of the tag to reveal those two humble words... i'm so psyched i'm actually wearing now as i type.)

look for the day 25.03.11

Servus velvet jacket, Polo Ralph Lauren shirt, Line scarf,
 martin+osa jeans, Cesare Paciotti shoes

First time in my life I’m actually wearing black shoes with navy jeans… never in a life time thought I’d be in that position but with limited resources, gotta do what ya gotta do… think I actually like it as an alternative to the all black.., seems more effortless in a way… presentable but not over coordinated formal.
Who would’ve thought that three weeks inn, a look like this could be possible… has to be a confidence booster when from the kick of the morning your complemented on your suave appearance. Many followed throughout the day “swish”, “sharp”, one standout came in the form “you look like a millionaire” although, attached with a suggestion to loose the scarf “only thing that looks a bit cheap” which possibly devaluates the look.

24.03.11

Carhartt tee, unknown scarf, Autonomy hoodie,
Ben Sherman blazer, Lee jeans, Tracer shoes

originally was planning to put the PAM long sleeve underneath but then felt for a bit of contrasting colour to liven the show up

what are we looking like

Again an improvement… $75…. Can’t be disappointed with that, especially considering the Paciotti’s almost create a third of that total. The way I see it, sometimes there’s something a little more special, at a little more of a cost. You may be able to get 3 pairs elsewhere with the same coin, but they won’t come with the pizzazz of a Cesare sword… and what’s the point, can’t wear 3 pairs at any one time anyway, so its nice to have something a little more standout.

hugo boss polo, unknown pullover, martin+osa jeans, bata shoes

parc diamond jeans, replay shoes

20.03.11 market 2 finds batch 2

from left to right:
Baleno belt - $1 (lost some weight over the week unfortunately not from exercise but lack of nourishment thanks to my little virus friends…. No one sees it and it’ll hold the jeans up)
Diesel jacket - $10 from $15 compared to the t-shirt yesterday this is a steel. reversible grey, black & white... relatively plain on one side, printed on the the other... it's looking to be a great throw over for any occasion
Cesare Paciotti shoes - $20 (the most i've spent on an item to date... but what an item it is... these would go for $600+... sole has not a spot of wear...just keep thinking Texas oil baron went new york 5th avenue for a makeover but couldn’t leave everything behind… hoping to get some nice black pants; jeans, white shirt and velvet jacket to make the look)
Burgundy scarf - $2 (no name, good to add a splash of colour and should tie in with the Kwamee jacket nicely for winter.

20.03.11 market 2 finds batch 1

from left to right:
Autonomy zip hoodie - $2 (didn’t have time to look at the condition so the shock came at home… few small bleach marks and pin holes on the sleeve, but the intention was to slip it under the ben Sherman blazer so for that purpose its perfectly functional)
PAM long sleeve - $2 (simply why not)

20.03.11 market 1 finds

from left to right:
Lee jeans - $2 (first attempt at getting a black pair… ehh not so much what I had dreamed up but an interesting look never the less)

look for the day 19.03.11

mooks tee, pitti sweater. martin+osa jeans, bata shoes
Think the illness is catching up with my creativity and decision capabilities. Yesterdays attire was so friendly i basically slept in it and rather then complicate things i gave the garments a quick steam for freshness, lost the scarf, lost the jacket, and worked the look.

spotted

from top left to bottom right:

black shirt, had interesting belt loops around the collar to tie through a bow tie... but to tight
shirtmakers shirt - liked the black and white floral print
Gas purple polo - $9.99 nice.. but decided not nice enough
Diesel long sleeve - diesel... but not for $20
Hugo boss jacket - to expensive at $35
Calibre jacket - about $10 was just of the mark
Cool sling bag but the idea of having prams printed on just haunted me
Calvin Klein collection jacket - $21.99, was strongly considering it until i noticed a size 14 tag then a bit of self consciousness kicked in, i was lovin the big pockets with pointed flaps.. military look gone dinner party... mohair, wool 50/50... all great signs.. if only my mind wasn't telling me how much better a boxy silhouette would look then the accentuating waste style it was.
Cedarwood State t-shirt - $7... 2nd thoughts could've gone well with the leather shoes from today but again the tight factor and lack of versatility outweighed the price.

19.03.11 op shop finds 3

Carhartt tee - $5 (baggy fit, colour should complement Kwamee jacket nicely)

19.03.11 op shop finds 2

from left to right:
Evisu Jeans - $10 (nice baggy fit)
Tracer leather shoes - $6.99 (bit big... throw in an insole and should be sweet)
Diesel t-shirt - $9.99 (slightly pre-empted with this one, never really thought where i'd wear it... the ribbed collar and the factor being a more recent diesel may have aided in the misjudgment... note... the print is actually a lot more fluro)

19.03.11 op shop finds 1

Marks & Spencer tee - $4 (beautiful lustre and silky hand for 100% cotton... should be nice under a jacket for a fancy evening)

look for the day 18.03.11

look for the day 17.03.11

unknown navy blazer, tommy hilfiger sweater,
christopher chronis shirt, parc diamond jeans, replay shoes

weathers a worry, dress is a delight and warmth Is a wonder.

how's it lookin

Calculations are in and came to a total of $88 for the weekend... gotta be proud of the improvement even if its still a shaving of the ideal investment.

look for the day 16.03.11

christopher chronis white shirt, lemon&soda cardigan,                           ben sherman jacket, line scarf, martin+osa jeans, bata shoes

Started feeling a bit ill, so clearly was all for the layering. Wanted to keep the body satisfied with a bit of warmth but if need by came around needed the option to cool without hassles of removing anything... during which the stupid idea of buttoning the jacket to cardigan and vice versa arrived... the results of which you can see above... i think dazed would sum up the efforts.

look for the day 15.03.11

unknown wool pullover, 2k by gingham tee, mavi jeans, bata shoes

With another hot day on the verge, it would've seemed stupid not to continue the potential relief of the rolled up jean... to mix it up paired it up with some light wool and a t-shirt... never saw it coming but i was astonished and rather pleased that the transparent nature of the pullover allowed the print to vaguely penetrate through...

look for the day 14.03.11

chiodo shirt, mavi jeans, paul smith shoes

As i had no luck finding a decent pair of shorts on the weekend i turned to the versatility of a loose pair of jeans. Thought i'd test out a few of the variations as to see how my grim options would ultimately compete of against refreshing comfort or slum style.

market 2 cheap find 13.03.11

Hugo boss polo - $1 (size M, bit loose, but in great nick & for that dollar... what else would you do)

Sunday, March 13, 2011

just not sure 13.03.11

those cork buttons, very low V... great combination of knitted beach colours.. such an unfortunate deal breaker that the length made it feel like a dress... actually looks like a good fit in the photo.. maybe thats were its destined to stay.

market 1 finds batch 3 13.03.11

 from left to right:
Custo Barcelona long sleeve - $5 (has no label the could recognise by the design and use of contrast material it was one of their pieces... and the style of the "fabricado en espana" material content tag was a give away.
PAM wool knit - $10 (bit different form what your seeing worn about today... might be able to style up a modern day raver look... get a Yelle "A Cause Des Garçon" video clip vide from a couple years back)
Kwamee by francis - $10 from $15 (thought at the time might go well with the paul smith shoes)
